We are looking for our Payroll & Benefits Manager to start with us preferably within the next couple of weeks.

Our Head Office is on Borough High Street, right next to Borough station. This role is an office-based role, with some flexibility for an occasional work from home day.

Your day at Aqua:
- Lead the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payroll for all employees across multiple restaurant locations
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, pensions, holiday and other employee perks, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies
- Manage payroll compliance with tax laws, deductions, and employee classifications, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations
- Develop and implement payroll procedures to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance
- Work closely with the HR and Finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure smooth coordination between departments
- Monitor and report on payroll data, including wages, deductions, bonuses, and benefits contributions, for both internal stakeholders
- Working with FOURTH on daily basis
- Administer and oversee the benefit enrolment process, ensuring all eligible employees have access to benefits packages and assisting with benefits inquiries
- Ensure the payroll system is kept up to date and is functioning correctly, liaising with IT to resolve any system-related issues
- Provide strategic leadership for employee benefit programs, including open enrolment, wellness programs, and employee communications
- Review payroll reports for accuracy and completeness, ensuring that any errors or issues are promptly addressed
- Lead internal audits of payroll and benefits programs
- Act as the main point of contact for payroll and benefits inquiries from employees and managers, providing timely and clear responses
- Prepare reports for senior management and stakeholders on payroll and benefits metrics, including cost analysis and employee engagement
- Help and support with the requesting of the tronc for the offer letter, working closely with the external Tronc Master
- Assisting with the contract preparation and onboarding of new starters to the payroll system eg. Fourth
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
What we are looking for:
- Strong FOURTH knowledge
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex payroll and benefits issues to non-experts in a clear and accessible way
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring that all payroll and benefits data is accurate and compliant
- Problem-solving abilities, particularly in resolving payroll discrepancies or addressing employee benefits issues
- Proactive and strategic approach to payroll and benefits management, continuously seeking improvements and efficiencies.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive payroll and employee data
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
